Music legends Brian Wilson and Gary Numan will perform in Liverpool later this year as part of the ’50 Summers of Love’ celebration.

The influential artists will play at Exhibition Centre Liverpool on separate days this July.

Numan’s performance on 27 July, one of just two UK dates from the synth-pop icon in 2017, will feature a career-spanning set of material dating back 40 years.

The electronic artist will be supported by original Ultravox frontman John Foxx’s latest band John Foxx and The Maths.

Beach Boys founder member Wilson will play at Exhibition Centre Liverpool on the following evening (28 July), performing songs from the band’s iconic record ‘Pet Sounds’ for the final time.

The concert is one of three final ‘Pet Sounds’ shows in the UK, with London and Sheffield dates having sold out.

Support will be provided by former Beach Boy Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin of The Flames and the Beach Boys.

The ’50 Summers of Love’ celebration is a season of more than 60 specially curated cultural, artistic and musical events to mark the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love.

Tickets for the Gary Numan and Brian Wilson shows will go on sale at 10am on Friday 3 March.
