Crowne Plaza completes £1.8m refurbishment

Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza has unveiled a £1.8 million refurbishment of its bedrooms with more than £11,000 being spent on each room.

Management decided it was time to “breathe some more life” into the hotel which was opened in 1998.

Local firm MDR Interiors was enlisted to carry out the work having previously renovated the hotel’s lounge area, terrace and large function space.

Stephen Roberts, general manager of Crowne Plaza Liverpool Hotel, says: “With so much development going on everywhere, we knew that we had to modernise to reaffirm our place within the cultural heart of the city.

“When we were planning how our new rooms were going to look, we knew we wanted something that was stylish but also re-energising and refreshing. We wanted the rooms to be cool, comfortable, and full of character – just like the direction that Liverpool’s lifestyle and hospitality scene is heading in.

“I’m really pleased with how the new bedrooms are looking, and we’ve had a wonderful response from the guests who’ve stayed in them so far. I’m looking forward to having more rooms finished and giving more people the opportunity to have a great night’s sleep in a stylish setting.”
