Formby Hall resort sale agreed

Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, a previous host of European and Senior Tour golf events, has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

The luxury resort located on between Southport and Liverpool on England’s Golf Coast, has been sold to CS Hotels after being put up for sale by Merseyside-based Maghull Group.

Part of a collection of 12 of the UK’s top ranked golf courses, it has previously hosted European Challenge, Senior and European Pro Tour events in the past and is the newest of three venues to be used for the inaugural England Golf Coast Pro-Am.

Shaun Skidmore, senior director at CBRE – who were agents for the sale, says: “We are pleased to announce the sale of the highly prestigious Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa to CS Hotels.

“The company is delighted to have acquired this successful resort and has revealed plans for continued investment, building on its first class reputation.”

Set within 183 acres of parkland, Formby Hall combines its 62-room boutique hotel with the facilities of a four-star luxury spa and golf resort including multiple high-profile restaurants including the L37 restaurant and cocktail bar lounge, the 19th Hole bar, Java Lounge reception and Spa Bistro.
