Hanover Street Social ‘back to doing what we do best’ following temporary closure

Hanover Street Social has officially reopened following a voluntary four-day closure in late January.

The decision to close was made after an inspection from Liverpool City Council’s environmental health officers highlighted areas in need of attention, prompting management to take immediate action.

Matthew Robinson, managing director of MLA Restaurants, which owns Hanover Street Social and Salt House Tapas, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the restaurant’s reopening: “Since reopening, we’ve been sincerely grateful to welcome back our loyal customers, and we’re committed to getting back to our 5-star hygiene rating that we’ve proudly maintained for nearly 10 years.

“This recent closure was a minor blip in our operations, but we’ve used it as an opportunity to address the areas that needed improvement. We’ve also taken swift action to address issues with the management of the premises.

“It’s been an emotional time for us, but we’re back to doing what we do best which is serving our much-loved dishes and contributing to the thriving Hanover Street food and drink community.

“We look forward to welcoming both new and old customers in the coming weeks as we add a variety of exciting new food options to the menu as well as keeping our much-loved classics.”

A spokesperson for the restaurant added: “The restaurant’s commitment to maintaining its stellar hygiene record and the satisfaction of its customers is unwavering.

“Following the closure, the team conducted a thorough deep clean and worked diligently to bring everything up to standard and these efforts have not gone unnoticed, with people quickly returning to show their support.”

MLA Restaurants, which employs 120 local staff, has recently invested over £100,000 in upgrading Hanover Street Social, enhancing its décor with new bathrooms, furniture, and guest seating areas.
