Liverpool’s LEAF Tea Shop and Bar has been recognised by the coveted blind-tasted food awards, Great Taste.

As it released its Great Taste stars of 2015, the widely acknowledged accreditation scheme gave LEAF’s Secret Garden blend of loose leaf tea its stamp of approval and shortlisted it from 10,000 food and drink entries.

More than 400 discerning palates judged the entries, with critics including Masterchef judge Charles Campion, TV presenter Aggie Mackenzie and Great British Bake Off winner, Francis Quinn as well as food writers, chefs and restaurateurs.

LEAF will now be able to carry the Great Taste logo after being awarded one star in the competition’s one, two and three-star awarding system.

Natalie Haywood, founder of LEAF Tea Shop & Bar, says the accolade has been a highlight in the Bold Street venue’s journey so far, and adds: “We are thrilled to be awarded a prestigious taste award for our unique blend Secret Garden.”
