A selection of Liverpool bars and pubs have outlined plans to reopen on 4 July, subject to the government going ahead with its current strategy.
Grand Central Hall on Renshaw Street will be making use of the gardens at the rear of the building when licensed premises are allowed to reopen early next month.
Roscoe Gardens will be accessed via Mount Pleasant, and the team behind Grand Central is looking to erect a marquee at the back of the gardens, as well as around 25 large tables which will be placed at the appropriate distance apart.
The idea is that families or groups of friends can book tables at the site which can then be set out accordingly.
Maureen Bramwell, who owns Grand Central Hall – which also includes Smokie Mo’s and a hotel, says: “It’s been a difficult three/four months for the industry as well as the nation and we now look forward to opening up our huge outdoor space for the last few summer months.
“As the football is now starting again we will be playing all the Premier League games on our large outdoor screen.
“Some areas will be covered, some outdoor and we will be led by the government guidelines as well as the ‘Great British weather.”
Meanwhile, venues owned by Pub Invest Group, which includes bars such as McCooleys, Dirty O’Sheas, Einstein, Soho, The Rubber Soul Complex, The Old Bank and several more sites will be looking to open on 4 July also.
A spokesperson for Pub Invest Group, Gary Bond, says: “From a Pub Invest Group point of view, we’ll be opening will be the likes of McCooleys, Dirty O’Sheas, Einstein, Soho, The Rubber Soul Complex, The Old Bank and several more of the sites as soon as we’re permitted.”
Rooftop bar Liberte, which is known for its bottomless brunches, will be reopening, as well as newer venues such as Harrisons and the Abbey Road on Harrington Street, which officially opened the day the lockdown started.
