One Vision Housing is set to support residents of Wirral onto the property ladder as it launches 46 modern apartments through a Rent to Buy scheme this summer.
Located just a two-minute walk from Birkenhead town centre, Conway Point will provide affordable rental properties to the area, thanks to more than £1.7 million in funding from Homes England.
A recent report by the Centre for Social Justice found that over 40% of population in the North West felt that housing costs in their area were “too high”, with 77% agreeing that social housing was an essential resource for vulnerable people.
Conway Point is being delivered as part of The Sovini Group’s development framework, which aims to combat high housing costs, through the creation of high quality, affordable homes.
Ian Mitchell, managing director of housing at The Sovini Group, says: “We are driven by our purpose to create opportunities and change lives, and look forward to seeing inclusive, thriving communities blossom here in Birkenhead, as we welcome customers into their new affordable, quality homes.”
The Group is committed to reducing its environmental impact and its striving towards net-zero carbon emissions.
In line with The Future Buildings Standard (2021), Conway Point is being developed by Sovini Construction with a ‘fabric first’ approach on a brownfield site.
The approach involves maximising performance of components and materials selected during construction, aiming to reduce energy consumption, such as thermal efficiency and running costs.
Apartments will feature environmentally efficient specifications, including toilets, taps, showers, and light fittings.
Steve Parrington, Sovini Construction’s managing director, adds: “We’re committed to developing high quality affordable homes and the Conway Point scheme is a testament to that ethos.
“We strive to make a positive difference in the communities we build in, and that is why we are proud to work in partnership with award-winning social housing provider One Vision Housing, who share the commitment of creating opportunities and changing lives.
“We look forward to seeing the development thrive within the local community for years to come”.
The development is due for completion during the summer of 2022 and show home dates are set to be announced soon.
