Paul Crowley & Co joins pledge to speed up buying and selling for home movers

Liverpool law firm Paul Crowley & Co has signed up to a groundbreaking industry-wide pledge, to introduce transparency in the property market.

Set up by The Home Buying and Selling Group (HBSG), in conjunction with the Law Society, the pledge lays out what each profession within the housing industry needs to do and when.

The pledge is not just for industry professionals, but also for home movers, to ensure the housing market continues to operate as well as it can during and beyond COVID-19.

Jenna Gall, head of conveyancing at Paul Crowley & Co solicitors and member of the Conveyancing Association, welcomes the pledge and recommends sellers appoint a property lawyer on the day they market their property.

She also suggests that buyers instruct a property lawyer early to secure their decision in principle, so their ID can be verified quickly and money laundering checks carried out before an offer is made.

Jenna (pictured) adds: “At Paul Crowley & Co, we want to work with our clients to ensure that their house moves progress as smoothly and quickly as possible, by gathering the information at an early stage we can reduce sale fall-throughs and cut down the time it takes to buy and sell.”

The pledge does not add any extra steps to the home moving process, but requests that buyers and sellers provide the required information earlier in the process to save time and give the residential property market the opportunity to resolve any issues before they hold up the sale.
