Plus Dane to build hundreds of new homes across Merseyside

Housing association Plus Dane has revealed plans to build hundreds of new homes across Merseyside and Cheshire.

The Liverpool-based organisation is to construct 590 properties over the next three years for affordable rent and home ownership.

Plus Dane has set aside £30 million of its own funds to bankroll the project, with additional capital coming via a successful application to the Homes and Communities Agency’s Affordable Homes Programme Grant.

The housing association is also investing £8m into its existing homes and neighbourhoods this year.

Claire Griffiths, Plus Dane’s executive director of property, says: “We have an excellent track record in providing affordable housing across the North West, and we are delighted to once again be in a strong position to build on this with a full programme of new schemes for rent and sale in place for the next three years.

“Going forward, we want to be a developer of choice in this arena. For those already living in Plus Dane homes, customer feedback shows that the majority of our tenants are happy with their homes and we will continue to make sure our customers are happy by investing in our properties and keeping neighbourhoods sustainable.”

The first of the new homes will be at Everton Brow in North Liverpool, Shepherd’s Row in Runcorn and Dunkirk Farm in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, with these developments scheduled for completion in 2017.
