Liverpool house prices saw an annual increase in August, according to the latest government figures.
UK House Price Index data shows that property sold in Merseyside during the month had an average value of £120,702 – a year on year upturn of 3.79%.
Although house prices in Liverpool appear to be on the rise, the rate of growth was markedly slower than the national average, which was pegged at 8.4% as property value reached £218,964.
Furthermore, Liverpool property saw a marginal monthly decrease in August, dropping by 0.79% compared to July, while the national trend was a 1.3% increase.
Comparing Merseyside to the regional average, the growth rate was off the North West’s pace of 6.3% up on last year and average property value of £151,489.
The figures also suggest that house sales are on the rise across the UK, growing by 8.4% compared to August 2015, although supply and demand were broadly unchanged.
