The Mayor and Mayoress of St Helens have helped to kickstart construction at Gleeson’s latest Liverpool City Region development.
With ground work already well underway at its Hamelin Park site, the housebuilder has moved forward with creating 52 new two, three and four-bedroom homes.
Mayor and mayoress, councillors Steve and Lynn Glover visited the site for the semi and detached homes, located just off Broad Oak Road, and the mayor says: “We are delighted that Gleeson has chosen to develop this once vacant piece of scrubland into new homes.
“There is a shortage of housing in our area and it is great to hear that the prices of Gleeson’s new homes will be affordable to both first time buyers and families who are looking for a bigger property.”
According to Gleeson the level of interest in the development, which will offer homes through the government-backed Help to Buy scheme as well as a range of other affordable initiatives, is already proving to be strong among buyers.
Nick Uttley, director of Gleeson Homes, adds: “We will soon be opening a brand new regional office in St Helens to coordinate construction of our developments across Merseyside.”
