A new restaurant could be on the way to Parr Street under plans submitted to Liverpool City Council.

The applicant has revealed proposals to convert the former workshop buildings at 27-29 Parr Street into a late-licensed eatery with a roof terrace.

The site, which is located several doors down from Parr Street Studios, was the subject of two previous bar and restaurant-themed planning applications, neither of which came into fruition.

The new planning application is a revised version of a 2013 proposal which was never implemented, although several additional alterations to the buildings are included.

A statement issued to the council’s reads: “The applicant wishes to carry out improvements to the buildings to improve their appearance and interior layout, and to bring underused property back into use.

“This re-application is essentially the same as the 2013 restaurant application, with minor internal alterations and the removal of the spiral stair access onto the terrace area. The proposed use is compatible with the open plan interiors of the buildings, and there are very similar uses in close proximity.”

Other eateries in close proximity to the site include burger bar Almost Famous and Liverpool’s first dry bar The Brink.
