The Coral to headline Sound City 2016

Merseyside band The Coral have been confirmed for the Sunday night headline slot at Sound City 2016.

The festival will be the band’s first appearance in the city since their University of Liverpool gig in November 2010.

Dave Pichilingi, Sound City CEO, says :  “The Coral have always been on our wish list and we are absolutely delighted they have chosen Sound City for their return. We’re expecting some big scenes when they close the Atlantic Stage on Sunday night, facing out across the water to their Wirral home.

“They are part of the DNA of this city and occupy a very special place in our hearts. It’s going to be a landmark show and one not to miss.”

James Skelly, lead singer of the band, says: “Sound City is a great festival and the setting is just incredible. We’re really looking forward to the headline slot and being back in Liverpool. It’s going to be a very special show.”

Sound City 2016 takes place on 28 & 29 May 2016 at the Liverpool Waters Bramley-Moore Dock with hundreds of artists and performers still to be announced.
