The Libertines founder and frontman, Pete Doherty is the latest headliner to be added to this year’s Sound City festival.
The songwriter will sign-off the dockland event’s North Stage with a Sunday night performance and is one of more than 50 acts to be added to the bill.
Other musical additions include former Coral guitarist Bill Ryder-Jones, Mercury nominated C Duncan, and a DJ set from electronic duo Mount Kimbie.
Meanwhile multi award–winning actor, director and musician Paddy Considine leads the first wave of speakers heading for the 28-29 May festival’s In Conversation with Radio X stage, which was previously only part of the industry conference element of Sound City.
Sleaford Mods, Alexei Sayle, Circa Waves and Roisin Murphy are also among the keynote speakers announced so far, as the festival prepares to host a range big names from music, movie, TV and literature.
Sound City will take place for the second year at its Liverpool Waters, Bramley-Moore Dock site, and will feature entertainment across the Atlantic Stage, the North Stage, the Tall Ship Stage in partnership with Captain Morgan, The Cavern Stage, The Cargo Stage and the MailChimp Record Store in 2016.
Previously announced headliners include The Coral and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
