Ignite Padel has announced plans to open the UK’s biggest indoor padel facility in Liverpool this autumn.
The company currently operates two sites in the region – West Derby and a brand-new venue at Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port. Its third facility will be the UK’s largest indoor padel centre bookable through Playtomic.
Playtomic is the world’s leading app for booking padel courts, connecting players with clubs across the globe. In the UK, it facilitates bookings at around 80% of the roughly 275 padel clubs, making it a key platform for the sport’s growing community.
As padel’s popularity has surged, Playtomic’s user base has grown significantly, with monthly active users rising from 35,000 to 156,000 in just over a year.
Ignite’s Cheshire Oaks site, which opened earlier this month, features five indoor courts and two outdoor courts, allowing play in all weathers. Upstairs, the facility includes a viewing gallery with table service and TVs showing live sports.
The centre also houses a retail store where players can shop for racquets, balls, and clothing, as well as access expert coaching for all levels, from beginners to more experienced players.
Ignite opened its first Liverpool site in April at the Vagabonds Lawn Tennis Club on Queens Drive, West Derby. Its six floodlit outdoor courts have been fully booked throughout the summer.
A spokesperson for Ignite said: “We have the outdoor site on Stoneycroft – Queens Drive and it makes perfect sense to now open an indoor site in Liverpool to complement this.
It is also due to the demand we have seen at the Queens Drive site as padel courts are booked up for two weeks in advance, so it was the obvious move with such high demand for bookings.”
Further information on the company’s new Liverpool development will be released soon.
