Young musicians wanted for Andrew Lloyd Webber musical

Hit West End production ‘School of Rock – The Musical’ is due to hold auditions in Liverpool and is encouraging local youngsters to apply for a role.

Children aged between 8 and 12-years-old who can play the drums, keyboard, bass or electric guitar are being invited to respond to an open casting call.

‘School of Rock – The Musical’ is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s take on the popular Jack Black film, with new songs created by the legendary composer in collaboration with lyricist Glenn Slater.

The show has proven successful at the New London Theatre and was recently given a booking extension for the third time since its West End debut, prolonging its run until 14 January 2018.

Jessica Ronane, children’s casting director for ‘School of Rock’, says: “We look forward meeting with the next generation of rockstars, as we continue our auditions in Sheffield, Birmingham and Liverpool.

“If you can play the drums, keys or the electric and bass guitar, we want to hear from you, and if you’re nervous about skills just get in touch and we can give you more details. Come and ‘pledge allegiance to the band!'”

The Liverpool auditions will take place on Saturday 23 September 2017.
