World Health Day events taking place in Maghull

A weekend of health and wellbeing events will take place in Maghull next month to mark World Health Day.

Organisations including Living Well Sefton and Mindfullness Merseyside will be on hand to provide health advice at the Town Hall and other local businesses are offering freebies to mark the occasion.

Maghull Eye Centre in the Square is offering a free 2D eye scan worth £12 with every check-up that weekend, while Maghull Health Studios in Sefton Meadows Industrial Estate is holding free exercise sessions and health checks for the community.

Meadows Leisure Centre will discuss its membership options a bid to encourage locals to get active, and Rawfully Good 4 U will be present to outline the benefits of healthy eating and a raw food diet.

Organised by Maghull Town Council, the Maghull Health Weekend begins on Friday 7 April to coincide with World Health Day and will run until Sunday 9 April.

A statement from the event’s organisers reads: “In celebration of World Health Day, Maghull Town Council has partnered up with local organisations to offer a range of taster health sessions, focused on improving your wellbeing and raising awareness of the services available within the community.

“We have joined forces with other businesses in the area to expand their celebrations and diversify the program to include a wide range of health and wellbeing services.”
