A new bagel eatery, based in the heart of Chinatown, is set to open early next month.

The Bagelry, will be the first independent venue in Liverpool to specialise in bagels and will also stock a number of other items including waffles, pancakes and muffins.

Natalie Murray, co-owner of The Bagelry, says: “We are extremely excited. We can’t wait for more people to try our bagels. We have been doing this on a smaller scale for three years now and we just really hope people like our product.

“Obviously there isn’t much going on in the area [Chinatown] at the moment but we are delighted with the news that the area is going to be redeveloped. Our decision to open here was mainly down to cost reasons although we think it is ideally located between the Baltic Triangle and Bold Street areas”

Natalie started the business with her friend Rhonda Davies in 2013. The pair first met during sixth form and started the venture by supplying their bagels to coffee shops and cafes across Liverpool – all while still working full-time.

A Kickstarter project was launched to get the business off the ground – over £3,500 was raised, including £1,000 for the purchasing of a specialised bagel oven.

Natalie and Rhonda hope to have the Bagelry open by 3 November however this date is subject to change.
