Live music, dance and giant puppets launched the first ever Albert Dock Rum Festival on Liverpool’s waterfront.
International arts group Brouhaha International launched proceedings with a colourful display of drumming and dance, with the help of a series of giant puppets in a boisterous opening performance. It was followed by a selection of Albert Dock venues opening their doors with rum-based drink offers and events throughout the two-day event.
The Smuggler’s Cove held rum tasting sessions with experts on hand to advise on the best way to enjoy the drink, while a steel band entertained guests with authentic Caribbean music.
Other bar and restaurants offered cocktail offers, alcohol-free drinks and Caribbean-style food as the waterfront complex celebrated the inaugural festival in the sun.
