Luxury Student Homes has opened a new Smithdown Road office, as the company expands in response to the city’s growing high-end student accommodation offering.

The firm, which was established in early 2014, has moved into a former retail unit along the street which had lain derelict for 10 years as it continues to grow.

Owned and operated by Neil Colquhoun and Lee Grierson, the agency is said to have experienced an “exceptionally busy” first year.
According to former University of Liverpool students Neil and Lee, who have been involved in the Liverpool rental market since 1999 and turned their focus to the student market in 2011 with their own properties, it is the now ideal time to expand in the city as “the days of traditional ‘student digs’ are over”.

Luxury Student Homes celebrated the office launch earlier this month, and also marked the end of a successful 12 months which has seen the size of the team grow.

Lee says: “The team has grown to five now with Helen Lawlor, Catherine Aspinall and Marie Rice joining the team to run our day to day operations and it’s great for Neil and I to be able to invest in the city and area where we both attended University ourselves by way of redeveloping some tired old buildings and creating new jobs.”
