Famous Liverpudlians have united in a bid to save refugees by donating a remarkable collection of unique items and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for an upcoming eBay charity auction.
The auction follows the recent ‘With Love from Liverpool’ benefit concert that raised more than £30,000 for the British Red Cross Europe Refugee Crisis Appeal.
Co-host of that event, John Bishop, is involved again with this appeal – bidders have the chance to win a trip to Anfield to watch Liverpool alongside the well-known local comedian.
Continuing with the football theme, Liverpool fans have the chance to bid on a club shirt signed by legendary centre-back, Jamie Carragher. Jamie has agreed to personally dedicate the shirt to the lucky winner.
Joe Anderson, mayor of Liverpool, says: “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been blown away by how the city has responded to the refugee crisis. Again and again, people all over Merseyside are stepping forward to support families in crisis and letting them know that we want to support them.
Adding, “The With Love From Liverpool concert was a roaring success, but it doesn’t end there. The auction will be the next chapter in our attempts to do what we can to support the desperate plight of those fleeing from war. I hope everyone gets involved and gets bidding for such a worthy cause.”
Every penny raised will be donated to the British Red Cross and will help the charity to support refuges across Europe.
