A children’s play area could be built on land beside the Hillside Neighbourhood Centre in Huyton under new plans.
North Huyton Communities Future is seeking the go-ahead to add junior and toddler play facilities to a plot of open public space adjacent to the Hillside Avenue building.
Landscaping and new footpaths would also be added to the site, along with fencing, gates and litter bins, if Knowsley Council’s planning committee approves the proposals.
Tim Molton, chief executive of North Huyton Communities Future, says: “We are hoping to put an outdoor playground on the land attached to the Hillside Neighbourhood Centre, which is currently open space. There will also landscaping with paths, and the play area will be open to everybody.”
Play facilities planned for the space include a climbing rope, activity tower, bird’s nest swing, a maze and a seesaw.
North Huyton Communities Future previously entered an agreement with the council to regenerate the area surrounding the centre, a project which has seen nearby roads realigned and work on a new housing development commence.
