Epicured Liverpool opening ‘imminent’

A new restaurant specialising in cured meat, bread and cheese will open its doors this month in the Ropewalks area.

Epicured, a new venture by first-time restaurant owners and mother-daughter team, Rachel and Harriet Robinson, will open on Gradwell Street near Wolstenholme Square.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner options and will specialise in cured meat. However, it will not just focus on the traditional Spanish and Italian cured meats. Rachel says: “We’ll have salted corned beef, English ham on the bone and other cured meats. The name Epicured means delicatessen and that is the sort of food we will serve.”

The duo have taken an old industrial unit and are fitting it out with unique touches prior to opening including bricks from the world-famous Pinewood Studios. Rachel says the building was a ‘concrete box’ when they first moved in but they are adding character to the modern interior.

Epicured will seat up to 30 people and the opening is ‘weeks away’, according to Rachel. She adds: “We set out to look for a place in Ropewalks because it is such an exciting area with so much going on. It’s taken us a long time to build it from scratch and we’re really excited for the launch.”
