Greg Wilson and Wayne Hemingway set for Transatlantic 175 club night

Liverpool will pay homage to New York’s famous Paradise Garage club next month, as it continues to celebrate its transatlantic links.

On Saturday 4 July, when the One Magnificent City programme comes to an end with the spectacular Transatlantic 175 weekend of celebrations curated by designer and entrepreneur Wayne Hemingway, Baltic Triangle venue The Garage will give a nod to NYC’s enduring dance music culture.

Vintage presents Paradise at The Garage, in association with Club Freeze, will see internationally renowned and Merseyside born DJ Greg Wilson, who first came to prominence in the region’s clubs back in the ’70s, provide a headline set reflecting the wealth of house, disco and electro-funk which largely originated in the USA and has gone on to grace local dancefloors.

He’ll be accompanied on the night by Wayne Hemingway who, true to his Vintage brand which will be taking over the city with two days of events and cultural attractions, will be pulling out gems from his 7,000-strong vinyl collection from over 40 years.

Jack Hemingway, who has been hugely inspired by music from the Paradise Garage era, will also be showcasing a variety of tracks, and support on the night will be provided by Merseyside music veteran Derek Kaye.

Tickets to the 10pm–5am event are on sale, priced £15 in advance.
