Liverpool developer Elliot Group has invested £10 million in the construction of its first care home, a move which is expected to create more than 100 jobs.

The Royal Oak care home on Church Road in Wavertree is said to have brought 40 construction positions to local builders Impel Contractors and will require 125 full and part-time staff when it opens.

The 73-suite facility is being marketed as a top-of-the-range care home, with en-suite rooms, profiling beds, and a roof terrace offering views of the Liver Building, the Anfield football stadium and the Welsh mountains.

There will also be an on-site GP to tend to the residents’ medical needs and a management team comprising experienced nursing staff. Applications for places are currently being taken.

Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group, says: “We have brought our development skills to bear on a key sector with cracking results. The city needs more higher quality elderly care and I expect this to be the first of several such projects with Care Home Management.”

The Royal Oak care home will open at the end of July following an 11-month construction period.
