A new venue at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall will host music concerts and other events when it opens in September.
The Music Room is a new 160-250-capacity venue in the same building as the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and will cater for more intimate musical performances, pre and post-concert talks, children’s workshops and other events.
The space, which has been created as part of a £13.8m refurbishment of the Philharmonic Hall, will have also have a bar and will be available for private hire, according to the team that runs the venue.
Richard Haswell, Liverpool Philharmonic Head of Programme says: “The Music Room offers us a unique opportunity to present a wide range of smaller-scale concerts and events in a purpose-built space to complement our programme in the main Hall.
“Liverpool Philharmonic enjoys good relationships with artists, agents and music promoters in Liverpool, nationally and internationally in presenting our programme of concerts and events, and of course we have a wonderful resource in our resident musicians and ensembles. The Music Room will be an exciting new addition to Liverpool’s musical life.”
The first events at the Music Room will take place between September and December 2015, with tickets going on sale in June.
