Plans to transform an office building on Liverpool’s Moorfields into a residential block comprising 45 apartments have been revealed.
According to proposals recently submitted to Liverpool City Council, CERT Property, owner of Centric House, is seeking permission for the office to residential conversion due to low tenancy uptake and a demand for “high-quality apartment accommodation in the central business district”.
If approved, the plans would see the building’s fabric and facade retained, with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments created across four floors.
In addition to the new homes, proposals also include a reception/concierge area on the ground floor, with cycle storage and parking at the basement level.
Manchester-based CERT, which also owns Elevator Studios in the Baltic Triangle, carried out a significant refurbishment of Centric House following its acquisition of the former Barclays bank office for £3.3 million in 2018.
Falconer Chester Hall is the architect behind the project and Enabl Consult is advising on planning.
