A new affordable housing development in Liverpool’s Wavertree area is nearing completion.

Riverside Home Ownership is currently on track to finish its Picton Road scheme in January, and is said to already be attracting “overwhelming” interest in the site.

The social housing provider has been working on 10 new properties on the plot of an old rail depot, all of which have been made available through a Shared Ownership scheme, including six three-bedroom and four two-bedroom houses.

With just weeks to go until the new year arrives, just two properties remain available at the site and Jennifer Bailey, sales and new business negotiator at Riverside Home Ownership scheme, says: “The response to the Picton Road properties has been overwhelming.

“This is a really great opportunity for first-time buyers who might be struggling to secure a mortgage or raise a deposit for the full value of a home. Shared Ownership means you can buy a share in a property, paying rent to a housing association on the part that you don’t own.”
