The full line up for this year’s Liverpool Comedy Festival has been unveiled, as the event gets set to return for its 14th year.

‘Live at the Apollo’ star Shappi Khorsandi, ventriloquist Nina Conti and political satirist Andy Zaltzman will join previously announced TV and stand-up comics Alan Carr and Dave Spikey on the bill for the 18 September to 4 October festivities.

Meanwhile Jeremy Hardy will be another of the performers at The Comedy Trust’s festival, which will also see Rob Rouse present his new show ‘Roboscopy’, Steffen Paddie of BBC2 sitcom ‘Hebburn’ take the stand-up stage and former The Word host Terry Christian entertaining the audience with his one-man ‘Confessions of a Recovering Catholic’ show.

Nineteen theatres and comedy clubs across the city, from the Philharmonic Hall, the Liverpool Playhouse and the Unity Theatre to Liverpool Comedy Cellar, Laughterhouse Comedy and The Epstein Theatre will play host to some of the stand-up circuit’s biggest names, while some of the freshest performers and local up and coming acts will also be showcased.

Festival director, Sam Avery from The Comedy Trust, says:  “This year is our biggest and most diverse festival to date: more shows than ever before and a strong emphasis on the hugely exciting local scene alongside the household names and international acts.”
