Let It Be, the Beatles-inspired West End musical hit, will come to Liverpool’s Royal Court for a five and a half week run, as tickets are set to go on sale next week.

Featuring the best-loved hits of the world’s most famous band, over one million people have watched the cast perform hits such as Hey Jude, Come Together, Let It Be and Yesterday. Now it will move out of the West End in London and come to Liverpool, where the second day of performances are set to fall on John Lennon’s 75th birthday on 9 October and the show will run until Saturday 14 November.

The show will also launch the £2.8 million refurbishment of the Royal Court theatre, which includes a new foyer, box office, circle bar and terrace open for the public.

Jeff Parry from Annerin Productions says: “I could not have dreamed as a nine year old living in Canada, having received my first Beatles album that I would be producing a show about the band in their hometown 51 years later. Destiny has some strange coincidences.

“Having been a Beatles fan since a young age I studied the origins of the Beatles and Liverpool.   I have visited Liverpool many times, most recently when Let It Be played at the Empire Theatre.   I was overwhelmed with the Liverpudlians show of support and thanks to me for being part of the creation of the West End show.   To say the least, Let It Be is helping to keep the music of the Beatles alive throughout the world and I am honoured to be bringing the show back to Liverpool.”

Let It Be tickets at the Royal Court will go on sale on Monday 30 March to the general public.
