Walton Festival attractions revealed

Plans are taking shape for the return of the Walton Festival this summer as organisers have announced a host of attractions and entertainment.

It was confirmed earlier this year that the event would take place in Walton Hall Park in July, recreating a much loved festival which was last held there in the 1990s.

The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team will be among the highlights of the two-day family event on 16-17 July, which will have the park’s heritage as one of its main themes.

A music stage branded the ‘Walton Hall Park Bandstand’ also play host to live music performances by local talented musicians and community groups, while a dance and performing arts stage provides further entertainment.

There will also be animals, children’s attractions, a farmers market presented by Geraud Markets, a Victorian themed funfair, and sports displays and taster sessions including disability sports.

Meanwhile, community organisations such as schools, voluntary and healthcare groups will have a presence at the festival, and visitors will be able to enjoy heritage themed food outlets and a bar along with a military zone and a fun run.

In addition, a maze will be created by Glendale Liverpool and festival organisers are preparing to open up an ‘It’s a Knock Out Challenge’ for entries from corporate teams.

The event is being backed by County Road Regeneration, Walton Community Interest Company and Liverpool City Council, with further opportunities for sponsors to get involved.
