Morning Gloryville teamed up with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) this week for a special event that brought the worlds of fashion and rave together.

The Fashion RAVEolution! took place yesterday morning (20 April) at Constellations in the Baltic Triangle.

Attendees were encouraged to join LJMU students in designing and customising their own raving outfits for the event, which aimed to increase awareness of ethical issues in the fashion and clothing industries as part of Fashion Revolution week.

Second year Fashion Communications students were tasked with designing the concept for the event – giving them the chance to put their PR, promotion, event production, brand activation and photography skills to the test.

Anna Maloney, Liverpool’s Morning Glory agent says, “We started discussions about a collaboration last year when I went to see the LJMU show at Graduate Fashion Week in London.

“It turned out they were already aware of Morning Gloryville and regular bRavers so we started to plot a collaboration.

“The project kicked off last month and the students have brought so many ideas together, they’re amazing and so creative!

The Fashion REVOlution is inspired by the annual Fashion Revolution festival which runs from 18-24 April.

Fashion Revolution is an international campaign which aims to use the power of fashion to help people who make the world’s clothes and accessories and was set-up in 2013 following the deaths of 1,134 people in a garment factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
