A Christmas appeal which provides presents for children growing up in poverty has been given a boost after a generous donation from Liverpool-based supported living developer Brantones.

The Big Help Project is a multi-award-winning charity which offers vital support for children and families living in poverty across Merseyside and the UK.

Its Christmas appeal calls upon local businesses to help those in need by giving food, clothes, toiletries and other non-food items, as well as monetary donations and toys for children.

The Big Help Project Christmas appeal coincides with the charity’s recently launched Surviving Home For Christmas campaign, a sobering depiction of what the festive season might look like for one of the 4.2 million children growing up below the breadline.

Brantones’ donation will enable the Big Help Project to deliver presents and sweet treats for even more disadvantaged children across Merseyside this Christmas.

Lee Birkett, director of Brantones, says: “As a supported living developer, organisations such as the Big Help Project are close to our hearts because we see just how much benefit they bring to families who might be struggling.

“To think there are children out there in our local community who won’t be receiving any presents this Christmas is heartbreaking, and we wanted to make a donation that could go towards providing a solution to this problem.”
