Liverpool’s Capital FM launch date confirmed

Capital FM will launch its new Liverpool station on 18 January, parent company Global Radio has confirmed.

After Global purchased Juice FM from UTV for £10 million in June, Adam Weighell, Gemma Cutting and Imogen Townley will present the first breakfast show, continuing from their previous positions.

Graeme Smith and Sarah Story will join the station to host the drive time show every week day before handing over to Anton Powers for every Thursday and Friday evening with Baz Todd providing exclusive remixes for the station on weekends.

Graham Sarath, Capital Liverpool’s commercial director, says: “Adam, Gemma and Imogen are loved by listeners on Juice FM and as we launch 107.6 Capital FM Liverpool, they will continue to wake up the city with their brand of humour and fun alongside the best hit music.

Ashley Tabor, founder & executive president of Global, says: “This is a really big day for Global – finding the right way to introduce Capital to the wonderful city of Liverpool has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time and we’re so pleased we’ve found the best local line-up and team to make that happen.

“In 2016, we’ll be bringing Liverpool the biggest hits from the world’s hottest stars and so much more. Watch this space!”
