Music on the Waterfront 2015 line-up announced

The full line-up for Music on the Waterfront has been announced, with celebrities and local talent in the line-up for the weekend.

Coronation Street stars Craig Charles and Kym Marsh, along with TV talent winners Collabro and Sam Bailey, will perform over the weekend, aside local musicians including Rebecca Ferguson and Connie Lush.

The event will begin on Friday 5th June and 6 Music will be joined by BBC Introducing and LIMF to create seven hours of music including ambitious commissions from Liverpool-based Resonate Music Hub. Craig Charles, who featured in last year’s event, will wrap up the night with his specially formed Fantasy Funk Band.

Smooth Radio will take over on Saturday, and will feature big names including David Gest, Collabro and Sam Bailey. Sunday will focus on home grown talent including Rebecca Ferguson, Connie Lush, Asa Murphy and The Scallywag.

Councillor Wendy Simon, assistant mayor and cabinet member for culture, tourism and events, says: “We’re delighted with this year’s line-up and it feels like a real celebration of music. This festival is one of our most popular events, and the music element always attracts big crowds.”

The free festival covers three days and is part of the International Mersey River Festival in partnership with Wild Thang branded clothing and merchandise experts.

The event also forms part of One Magnificent City; a seven week programme of activities celebrating Liverpool’s maritime history and transatlantic links.
