Over 250 new flats planned for Great Homer Street

Over 250 new apartments could be built on Great Homer Street under new plans.

Split across three blocks, the new development has been proposed for a patch of land near the junction of Virgil Street and Great Homer Street, currently home to an accident body repair shop.

In total, 277 apartments are being proposed by applicant Soller Two, made up of a mix of 178 studio and 99 two-bedroom units spread across the three towers.

Two of the blocks are nine storeys in height and face towards both Great Homer Street and Virgil Street whilst the third block is central to the site and measures eight storeys.

The proposed scheme is to the north of the Project Jennifer development which is currently under construction and includes a new Sainsbury’s supermarket and a new district centre.

Liverpool City Council’s planning committee will discuss the proposals at its meeting next week (21 February), with the scheme recommended for approval.
