A new personal fitness studio could be set to open in a rundown Wavertree shop.
Plans have been submitted to transform the former kitchen and bathroom fittings showroom opposite Mosspits Lane Primary School into two new units.
According to the planning application submitted to Liverpool City Council by Roman Summer Associates on behalf of Maghull Developments, the applicant has been approached by a local fitness operator who wants to offer personal fitness training from the rear part of the premises.
The application proposes the sub-division of 133 Woolton Road to form two independent units, one to accommodate the fitness studio and the other for a future retail tenant.
A document included with the proposal adds: “The application also proposes external refurbishment works, including the creation of two new entrances with roller shutters, and the replacement of all windows to lift the appearance of what is currently a somewhat tired vacant building.”
If approved, three personal trainers will operate within the gym on shifts offering one-to-one private sessions. Group exercise classes would also be held daily.
