A new contemporary bar and restaurant could be the latest addition to Liverpool’s Seel Street, providing the city council gives the project its approval.

The local authority will review an application to demolish the garage beside Heebie Jeebies and replace it with a food and drink venue.

The ground floor of the five-level establishment is envisioned as a bar, supported by a basement and internal and mezzanine floor, with four studio apartments on the upper levels.

A report outlining the planning application reads: “The proposed scheme seeks to demolish the existing mechanics garage adjoining the Georgian town house at 84-86 Seel Street and replace it with a new build building  more in keeping with the character of its surroundings.

“A brick and glass façade draws from the proportions of its neighbouring properties. The proposal has been restricted to the eave line of the adjoining property to provide a clean continuation of the façade fronting Seel Street.”

Snook Architects, the company behind popular Liverpool venues including Blind Tiger, Grove, and McCooleys, will handle the project if planning permission is obtained.
