Red Bull Harbour Reach 2015 will return to the Albert Dock on 25 July, when the world’s best wakeboarders will show off their skills at the iconic waterfront destination.
The 2015 event will be the third time the energy drink’s extreme watersports showcase takes place in Liverpool, with more than 10,000 spectators watching 2014’s event.
Course details have not been revealed for the 2015 Red Bull Harbour Reach but the usual mix of jumps, rails and maritime obstacles will be put in place to test competitors during the event. Guests include double Red Bull Harbour Reach champion, James Windsor.
The news comes as Albert Dock celebrates an increase of visitors in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period last year. Visitor total topped the one million mark, 21% higher than in 2014.
Events such as Red Bull Harbour Reach 2015 could see records broken at the tourist destination, says Peter Cronin, director of development and marketing for Albert Dock Liverpool. He says: “In what is promising to be an extremely eventful summer ahead of us – including the International Mersey River Festival, One Magnificent City, Red Bull Harbour Reach and Tri Liverpool, these visitor figures are very positive and a sign of greater things to come.”
