Russell Kane makes surprise appearance at Jacaranda

Acclaimed stand-up Russell Kane made a surprise appearance at Liverpool’s Jacaranda Club last night (24 August) to deliver a set at the Hot Water Comedy Club.

The Edinburgh Comedy Award winner’s presence at the event was kept under wraps beforehand, with attendees treated to a special drop-in performance.

Russell, who is currently on his ‘Right Man, Wrong Age’ tour, trialled new material at Hot Water Comedy Club ahead of his upcoming dates.

The comic is known for featuring on the BBC’s popular comedy programme ‘Live at the Apollo’, as well as presenting ‘Brother’s Big Mouth’ on E4 and Channel 4 and winning a Children in Need edition of ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ in 2011.

He released his debut novel, ‘The Humorist’, with Simon & Schuster in April 2012.

Hot Water Comedy Club takes place at the Jacaranda’s basement each week and is free to attend.

However, booking a ticket online is essential to guarantee entry as the event regularly sells out.
