A secret rooftop cinema will open in Liverpool, promising films ‘under the stars’ and views across the city’s skyline.

Secret Garden Cinema will transform an area of Queens Square car park into a secret garden with artificial turf and 150 deck chairs.

Guests will be able to watch a host of old classics such as James Bond and more modern films including The Dark Knight in the new venue, according to organisers.

The company has applied for an alcohol license and wood-fired pizza ovens will cater for guests at the new venture, which has already held successful pop-up events in London.

Gemma Morrow of Secret Garden Cinema says: “Secret Garden Cinema is an exciting new venture to the city for summer 2015, and will be Liverpool’s first premium outdoor cinema showcasing classic movies on rooftops overlooking the city.

“Everyone has a favourite movie, one that you can watch over and over again so why not join us for this unique film experience, take in the spectacular views and watch your favourite classic movie under the stars. Whether that is enjoying a Hollywood blockbuster with friends or cuddling up to a rom-com, Secret Garden Cinema has a movie for everyone.”

The team behind Secret Garden Cinema will be launching a website at www.secret-garden-cinema.co.uk for bookings and plan to open in the coming weeks.
