The team behind The Kazimier club and the Invisible Wind Factory has launched a crowd funding campaign to create a new show.
A Kickstarter campaign aims to raise £8,000 to create a new music, dance and light performance designed to ‘envelop large audiences’. If successful, the show will debut in the Invisible Wind Factory venue at the Northern Docks before touring the UK and eventually Europe.
The show is based on a performance at the Invisible Wind Factory in December 2014, an abstract tale of a factory powered by ‘invisible wind’. The Kickstarter campaign says: “We now want take the original show and it’s story, improve upon it massively, re-make it, and increase its size and scope.
“We will then take it on tour in 2016, presenting it at UK and European music and performance art festivals, and other venues around the country and beyond – a live touring spectacle.”
The team, led by Kazimier and Invisible Wind Factory director, Liam Naughton, has already raised £19,000 through funding including Arts Council England but needs £27,000 to complete the show.
The Kickstarter campaign information adds: “Much of the show now requires re-building to a new and higher specification, made in a modular format so that it can cope with the logistics of transportation and to the rigours of touring.
“We also have big plans for the artistic content – we want this to be a beautifully choreographed combination of ground breaking technology and human performance – but all that requires your help to make it a reality.”
If successful the show will debut in Liverpool on 6 and 7 November at the Invisible Wind Factory. The campaign, which at the time of writing has raised £330, will end on Friday 17 July.
