The city’s emerging bands and artists could soon be following in the footsteps of Royal Blood and Jake Bugg by taking the stage at Liverpool Sound City.
The annual festival, which will return from 21-24 May in 2015, has opened the application process as it once again gets set to provide a platform for rising talent.
This year Sound City welcomed some of the most influential names in the music industry, including John Cale and Thurston Moore, join a line-up alongside some of the biggest breakthrough acts like Jungle with performances and talks taking place at venues across the city.
Organisers are now planning to make next year’s festivities “bigger, bolder and brighter” than ever, and are calling on acts across all genres to apply to showcase their music.
Alex Simmonds, marketing and ticketing manager, says: “Emerging talent has always been a massive priority to us and we’ve helped launch the careers of some of the biggest names on the UK scene. The North West has always been a hotbed of talent – let’s face it the region has and continues to produce some of the most successful acts in the business – so as a northern festival we are perfectly placed to tap into that incredibly rich vein.”
Applications are now live in association with Gigmit.com, an event and booking platform designed to help artists find gig opportunities and promoters to find artists.
Any band or performer who would like to be part of Liverpool Sound City 2015 should visit www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk and click on the Liverpool Sound City 2015 Band Applications button for full details on how to apply.
