The 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool marathon is searching for bands to perform along the 26-mile course.

The annual race event, which attracted 10,000 runners in its first time out last year, is seeking local bands to perform over the race weekend, 12 to 14 June. The bands will join other rock and roll bands, drumming groups, choirs and dance troupes to entertain runners along the full marathon and half marathon courses.

Bands will also get the chance to play at parties in Camp & Furnace and the Echo Arena stage, according to race organisers.

Rob Griffiths, race director, says: “Music powers the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon experience. People have come to know and love the musical energy that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series rolls out, but it’s the local flavor of the tunes that really gets people going.  From on-course entertainment to the finish line festival concert, music helps make running fun and more accessible to everyone and creates a memorable race weekend for family and friends.”

The 2015 Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon begins and ends on Liverpool’s waterfront and will take in a host of the region’s landmarks. Interested bands can submit an application online until Sunday, 26th April at https://openculture.wufoo.com/forms/rock-n-roll-marathon/.
