Local actor Andrew Schofield and Game of Thrones’ Charlotte Hope will perform in a star-studded version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Everyman.

The theatre has announced Liverpool actor Andrew Schofield will return to the thrust stage for the first time in 10 years to play Peter Quince in the popular Shakespeare play. He is joined by theatre stars Cynthia Erivo and Dean Nolan, who will play Bottom and Puck respectively.

Up-and-coming British actress Charlotte Hope, who plays Myranda in hit US series Game of Thrones and Stephen Hawking’s sister Philippa in the BAFTA-winning biopic, The Theory of Everything, will portray Hermia in the contemporary performance of the play. The cast also includes Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Garry Cooper as warring fairies Titania and Oberon, as well as Everyman Playhouse graduate Lewis Bray.

Everyman associate director Nick Bagnall directs the play. He says: “A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a play that evokes mischief, mayhem, joy and anarchy. All the vital ingredients that the Everyman demands.”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Everyman runs from 21 March to 18 April. Tickets are on sale now.
