Despite being a firm favourite of the British menu, steaks are notoriously difficult to get right – choose the wrong cut or cook for a couple of second too much or too little and your succulent slab of meat can go very, very wrong. So where can you go to ensure a perfect steak?
Viva Brazil
Castle Street, L1
The vast Brazilian Churrascaria restaurant serves up 15 select cuts of meat and an extensive salad bar. Simply flag down a passing Passador meat carver and don’t stop until you have had enough. The meat is slow roasted over a charcoal barbeque to give it a signature crispy coating, while drinks include the popular Caipirinha cocktails.
Meet Argentinian Steak House
Brunswick Street, L2
Meet aims to bring its customers a taste of South America with a host of Argentinian inspired steak specials including the Lomo A La Napolitana – a 10 oz fillet steak topped with a tomato ragout and mozzarella and the Lomo `Messi` – a grilled 10 oz fillet steak topped with Serrano ham, sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. Meanwhile staff use colour coding to ensure your meat is cooked to perfection.

Attracting clientele from footballers to hungry office workers, it serves high quality meet in stylish surroundings. The full range of Brazilian cuts are on offer here, from steaks to prime cuts of gammon. Just turn up on an empty stomach to enjoy some of the finest meat this side of the Atlantic.

Simply tell them when you are full and in the meantime the meat will keep on coming. Enjoy Brazilian cocktails at happy hour, tuck into the seafood and salad bar and enjoy succulent beef, pork, lamb and chicken. Just remember to bring trousers with an elastic waistline.
