The Grade II-listed Wavertree Town Hall has been reopened as a bar and restaurant by former Gusto Albert Dock manager Lisa Dixon and her business partner Natalie Doughty.

Built in 1872 as the headquarters for the Wavertree Local Board of Health, the building was saved from demolition in 1979 and first opened as a pub in 1980.

After laying vacant for a number of years, Lisa, Natalie and their team have revamped the venue to create an all-new bar, restaurant and function space.

Speaking last December, at the beginning of the ambitious project, Lisa said: “Our aim is to transform the current site which needs both major internal and external refurbishment.

“We really do appreciate its importance to the local community, so whilst we are aiming to create a classic restaurant with a contemporary feel, we will be taking great care to preserve as many of the original features as possible and blend the historic elements of this beautiful building into our theme.”
