Merseyside homes shortlisted for property industry prize

Huyton’s Bluebell Park residential scheme is in the running for top accolades at the 2016 RICS North West Awards.

The over 55s apartments delivered by Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) have been shortlisted alongside projects from across the region for the Residential category ahead of RICS’ (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) celebration on 22 April.

Bluebell Park is also among the nominees for the Regeneration title at the awards, which will this year be presented during a ceremony at the Titanic Hotel’s Rum Warehouse.

North West projects will be recognised across eight categories on the night, with other awards including Building Conservation, Commercial Property, Community Benefit, Design through Innovation, Tourism & Leisure and Infrastructure.

An overall Project of the Year prize will also be presented to the scheme which demonstrates outstanding best practice and commitment to adding value to its local area, and all category winners will also go on to compete against other regional winners at a national grand final in October.

Ahead of the North West presentation Will Rees, chair of the RICS North West Awards judging panel and director at Liverpool’s Rees Straw Chartered Surveyors, says: “The RICS North West Awards attract a significant volume of entries every year and this year is no different; our shortlist of inspiring schemes is testament to the talent and exceptional skills of our region’s property professionals. I am looking forward to the judging process as many of the shortlisted projects are not only pioneering in their design, but they are also having a hugely positive impact on their local areas.”
