Plans for a £40 million residential development on the site of the Kazimier music venue have been submitted to Liverpool City Council.

Wolstenholme Square Developments Limited plans to build residential apartment blocks between three and ten stories at 5 Parr Street and Wolstenholme Square and has now submitted an application for the site.

The plans include a replacement nightclub over two basement levels as well as 333 studio apartments on the upper floors. The existing warehouse building will be used as a nightclub and 114 studio apartments.

Pavement cafes and cycle facilities are also part of the plan, which will be decided on by the planning committee.

Earlier this year Kazimier announced it would close its doors at the end of 2015 and the team will focus on other projects around the city, including the Invisible Wind Factory in Liverpool’s northern docks. However, the developer says one of the proposed new nightclubs will house Cream’s Nation, the super club that is currently based at the site.

Falconer Chester Hall designed the plans and a public consultation was held in April at Nation.

The developer says it wants to offer Kazimier a new site in the city and the team behind Kazimier is said to be supportive of the plans.
